Gatling’s Chapel, Inc. is a full service funeral home. We strongly believe that every funeral service is special and unique. We work closely with you to arrange a service that is both personal and meaningful.
The Traditional Service is when your loved one is present at a service held at the chapel or at a church. Prior to the services, there is usually a visitation period, also known as a wake, where the family can gather and receive relatives and friends. The casket can be opened or closed, depending on the wishes of the deceased and the family. Following the service, there is usually a procession to the cemetery for a committal service.
A Memorial Service is when the remains are not present. It may take place at the chapel, a church or even outdoors. This is a time to remember your loved one through fellowship with friends and family. The memorial service can also be an addition to a traditional funeral service. For example, a family can have a traditional funeral service here and then a memorial service back in the hometown of the loved one. Typically a memorial service is held when there is a Direct Cremation.
A Graveside Service is generally a more simple service held at the gravesite of a cemetery with clergy, family and friends present.
A Direct Burial is when there is not a funeral ceremony. The remains are placed in a alternate container or casket and transported to the place of burial. The presence of family and friends is optional.
Cremation is a form of disposition. It does not restrict you from having a visitation or a funeral service, with the use of a rental casket. Burial of cremains is an option and may include procession to cemetery for a committal service. Direct Cremation is when there is not a funeral ceremony. The remains are placed in a cremation receptacle (container) and transported to the crematory.
Anatomical Gift is a donor program in which individuals can donate their body for medical science. Gatling’s Chapel, Inc. will handle the arrangements.
Repast Services can be held in one of two facilities located at Gatling’s Chapel.
